Realization

I am on my way to what I believe will be an eye opening and very fulfilling event, the ESSENCE Young Women's Leadership Conference. However, my only disappointment today is with myself and my outfit! I wore this outfit no more than a month ago and the jacket fit great and today it is tugging were the buttons are...the realization...I have gained some inches. I should have lost all this weight by now...the baby weight...my daughter is 3! I am determined to get back to my petite size 6 and weigh no more than 140 lbs. So I am going green, getting away from the red meat aka "the devil" and cutting out the processed food aka "the other devil". I am going to detox and share my ups and downs as well as how to with others struggling to shake "these devils" off. This process will be difficult, but I am committed. By the end of this journey I would like to fit in the clothes that I have in my closet from pre-pregnancy, that I refuse to give away!

The Transformation

The transformation will be done 80% naturally and 20% synthetically. I am attempting to stop eating red meat...well meat period, but I have to say it is quite hard. When you try to stop "cold turkey" it seems your body goes through this withdrawal and you crave meat (protein). So I have decided to take it step my step cutting out pork ("the swine"), then beef, then chicken. I will stick to fish and other seafood...I couldn't possibly give that up! The reason I have chosen to give up the bulk of meat is because of all the drugs, dyes, and who knows what else they are pumping into these animals before and after slaughter. I just don't like how I feel after I eat meat and technically one is not supposed to feel "so tired" after completing a meal...that is the drugs and hormones from the food affecting your body. I will enhance my diet with organic fruits and veggies where possible and cut out the processed food (it's the devil), which will allow my body to loose the weight and tone certain areas like my mid-section. I am ready for the transformation, so watch out now, here I come! Will you join me?

Workout HairStyles

I have been pondering how I should wear my hair as I embark on my journey to lose 35lbs. I have thought about braids or a weave however those are two styles I have never had before in my life and I happen to not have the patience to sit for either, plus if I truly don't like it then I will want to take it out equaling money down the drain. But everyone has their own style some braids, some weave, some natural, so relaxed. I have chosen to get my hair cut which is the best way for me to maintain because I can go to the gym and not get my ends all sweaty which would force me to wash my hair; and therefore with the short cut only wash my hair every week or so...which would be quick and easy with less volume. Stay tuned for pictures of the new look!
